Lateral epicondylitis can be caused by sports injuries as well as repetitive squeezing activities (scissors) or the use of tools such as hammers or drills in the workplace. Epicondylitis can also result from a direct blow to the elbow. Seek medical attention to prevent permanent injury and report the problem to your employer if you believe your work activities contributed to or caused the problem. Workers Compensation benefits are available for this often painful elbow condition.
